The "World's Longest Ski Run!" At the top speed of 30 km/h, the slope-stretching magic of the rotating deck becomes apparent as the skiers zigzags downhill is constantly being taken back up again by the on-coming snow and may in fact never reaches the bottom! In one hour he has travelled 30 kilometres over the snow making the Ski Trac the longest ski run in the world - and all under one roof. The Ski Trac Dome houses a huge 175 metre diameter roatating snowfield. Its outer 50 metres comprises a metal structural deck that flexes over a pre-set profile as it rotates. Using new "Maglev" technology, the snow deck, with its 200 mm snow cover will "float" on an electro-magnetic field without the need for wheels, thus ensuring frictionless, vibrationless, silent and maintenance-free rotation. Drive power will be supplied by linear motor. The Big Lift For Skiers! The Ski Trac snow deck is a constantly moving lift wanting to transport skiers to the top of its slope. The skier simply remains stationary at the outer edge and is taken back to the top. During a one hour cycle the speed of the deck varies over a range of 5 - 30 km/h. At the lower speed with deck movement almost unnoticeable, the skier has a 380 metre (1200 ft) slope to descend, differing very little from its alpine counterpart.
